DuraJoint® is The Original PVC Waterstop. The first prototypes were developed almost fifty years ago for testing by Ontario Hydro. This testing continued for several years in an effort to determine what waterstop configurations worked best in different concrete applications. Today, many of those same configurations that were developed are still industry standards. Electrovert, DuraJoint's parent company, registered the name as a trademark and had the first hydrostatic pressure testing performed by the Ontario Research Foundation.
